ARTWARE
The Designers
ARTWARE's designs are created for the person who expresses their personal
style through unique and distinctive accessories. Incorporating
current trends within classic design elements, ARTWARE’s
approach is one of integration. Inspired by the organic
beauty of the earth’s treasures as well as the strong,
clean lines characteristic of 21st century design, ARTWARE
skillfully balances the present with the timeless creating
one-of-a-kind and limited edition accessories that will
maintain their appeal long after today’s passing trends
have lost their allure.
ARTWARE’s clean crisp style reflects
the casual elegance that defines the best of American design.
Individually fabricated one-of-a-kind and limited edition
pieces emphasize the beauty and innate sensuality of the
materials themselves. Simple, uncomplicated designs convey
a fresh, understated aesthetic that is at once sexy and sophisticated.
Using materials gathered from around the
world, ARTWARE's designs juxtapose organic, handmade, and
rare vintage elements, uniting the familiar with the exotic
to create beautiful handcrafted jewelry with a refined contemporary
edge. Sources from Bali to Beijing, from Nepal to the Netherlands,
from India, Japan, Southeast Asia, Europe, Greece, and Africa,
provide the discrete elements that inspire ARTWARE’s
uncommon creations. From the one-person studios of American
glass artists and the centuries-old factories of Murano,
Italy, come handblown and lampworked glass beads. A woman’s
cooperative at the foothills of the Kenyan mountains supplies
handcrafted ceramic beads in a variety of richly glazed
patterns and colors. Using traditional tools and techniques
silver elements are produced by Thailand Hill Tribes and
Balinese metalworkers. From the storehouses of mid to late
20th century jewelry designers and manufacturers come ARTWARE’s
limited supplies of rare vintage beads. And from the incredible
resources of the Earth and beyond come those fabulous wonders
known as gemstones.
ARTWARE
harmoniously melds near and far, raw and refined, and past
and present into Modern Classics that will give pleasure
now and for years to come.

THE DESIGNERS
ARTWARE's mother-daughter design duo enjoys the close bond that comes from working together toward a shared goal. The exuberance and innovation of youth and the experience that comes with age combine in ARTWARE to create unique and wearable designs that are contemporary, timeless and exceptional in their beauty and versatility.
Marsha has created wearable works of art since childhood. Born in Philadelphia she studied at the Tyler School of Art before starting a family and moving with them to France. Years of living and traveling through Europe and North Africa eventually brought her to Brooklyn, NY where she continues to make her home. Her professional experience ranges from couture dressmaking to fabricating costumes and headwear for Broadway shows and celebrity clients. Her work has been sold in major department stores including Bloomingdales and Saks Fifth Avenue and in Museum shops and boutiques across the country. With an M.A. in Art History, she was instrumental in establishing The Art Gallery at Brooklyn College, and served as Head Registrar at the China Institute in America, and at the Museum of Arts and Design for over a decade. Her attraction to unexpected combinations of uncommon materials and her attention to detail merge in ARTWARE.
Celine was also born in Philly and was whisked to Europe where she spent her first few years of school immersed in the language and culture of her adopted home in southern France. At an early age, she developed an appreciation for art and great food. She landed in Brooklyn at the age of 10 where she continues to make her home in DUMBO between the bridges. Celine began her professional life as a Chef in the kitchens of 3-star restaurants in Paris. She continued to develop her creative abilities in New York City where she honed her craft working as a Chef, Food Stylist, and Producer for the catered events of major corporations, New York society, and network TV. Never satisfied by the art of food alone, over the years, Celine has been drawn to and worked in the NY independent film industry, Museums, Galleries and Educational institutions in the tri-state area. Hors D'oeuvres and Chocolate Truffles give way to a hip luxurious sensibility in all of her creations.
Sharing a similar inspiration and visual aesthetic, this Brooklyn-based mother-daughter duo collaborate on all aspects of ARTWARE.
